Hulu Cancellation Not Working? Find Who Bills You First

If Hulu’s Cancel button is missing, disabled, or loops back to the account page, first identify who bills the subscription. Watching Hulu in an app does not prove Hulu directly processes the payment.

Use a browser and inspect the account

Type hulu.com/account into a browser, sign in, and look under subscription and payment details.

• Hulu bills you directly: use the account’s Cancel option and continue through every confirmation screen.
• A third party is named: cancel with that billing provider.
• No active plan appears: verify the email and inspect the card statement for the actual merchant.
• A bundle appears: manage it from the company that owns the billing relationship shown in the account.

The Hulu Subscriber Agreement says third-party subscriptions are billed and canceled under that third party’s process.

Follow the money, not the device

Check the exact merchant name on the latest statement and search email for the receipt. Common billing paths can include:

• Hulu or a Disney service
• Apple App Store

• a wireless or internet provider
• another subscription marketplace

Canceling the app on a Roku, Fire TV, or smart TV does not cancel a subscription unless that platform is also the billing provider and offers account management.

Complete direct Hulu cancellation

For a directly billed plan:

1. open Hulu Account in a browser
2. select Cancel under the subscription
3. decline or review any pause or offer without accidentally accepting it
4. continue until Hulu displays cancellation confirmation and an access-end date
5. save the page and confirmation email

Hulu’s agreement says cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the current subscription term unless the offer states otherwise. It also says the subscription must be canceled before 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on the day before the term ends to avoid the next charge. Check the current account terms because promotions can differ.

If the page itself fails

Try a supported, updated browser with extensions or VPN disabled temporarily. Clear only Hulu site data or use a private window, then sign in again. Do not create a new Hulu account; that can produce duplicate billing.

If the direct-billing cancel control still fails, contact Hulu from its official Account and Billing support page before renewal. Include the account email, plan, next billing date, browser, error, and screenshots. Ask the agent to confirm cancellation in writing and provide a case number.

Verify after cancellation
