How to cancel Spotify Premium when the cancel button is missing

Find the Spotify account and billing partner that owns Premium, cancel renewal from the correct account page, and verify when the plan changes to Free.

Quick answer

Sign in at spotify.com/account, open Manage your plan, and follow Cancel plan through the final confirmation. If no cancel control appears, identify the partner or different Spotify account shown on the receipt before contacting support.

Spotify Premium must be canceled from the account or partner that bills it. Removing the app, signing out, or deleting downloaded music does not stop renewal. Use a browser to sign in at Spotify’s account page and check the plan name and billing line before taking action.

Cancel a plan billed directly by Spotify

Open Manage your plan, choose Change plan, then scroll to Cancel plan and continue until Spotify displays confirmation. Button wording can vary by plan, but stopping at an offer screen does not complete cancellation. Note the date on which Premium will switch to Spotify Free.

Save the confirmation email and revisit the account overview. The reliable completion evidence is a plan end date with no next Premium renewal. Your playlists and account usually remain; offline downloads and Premium features end when the paid period expires.

Explain a missing cancel control

If the account page names a phone company, internet provider, Apple, or another partner, that partner owns the billing change. Follow the contact or management link shown there. If the page says Spotify Free while a charge continues, search your receipt email and try other sign-in methods or email addresses; a second Spotify account may hold the subscription.

A Duo or Family member cannot cancel the plan manager’s billing from the member account. The manager must change the plan. Avoid creating a new Free account because it will not alter the charged account.

Handle timing and unexpected charges

Cancel before the renewal time shown on the account, allowing enough time to verify the status. A completed cancellation normally leaves Premium active through the remaining paid period; that is not evidence it failed. Refund eligibility is separate and depends on the transaction and applicable terms.

If Spotify or the named partner still cannot locate the plan, provide the charge date, amount, receipt identifier, last four card digits only when the official support form requests them, and the username visible on your account. Never provide a full card number, password, or one-time code. Completion means the charged plan shows its end date in the correct account.
