Open Google Play’s refund request while signed into the purchasing Google account, select the exact order, give the truthful reason, and save the submission result. Unauthorized charges use Google’s separate reporting path and account-security steps.
A refund is not guaranteed simply because an app was removed. Submit the request from the Google account that made the purchase, choose the exact transaction, and keep the order number and response. First decide whether this is a purchase you recognize, an accidental purchase, or a charge you did not authorize.
Locate the correct order
Check Google Play order history and the receipt sent to the purchasing account. Google Play order numbers commonly begin with GPA. Match the item, date, amount, and account before requesting anything. Family Library, a child’s supervised account, or a second Google account can make an order appear missing from your current history.
Use the official Request a refund route linked by Google Play Help. Select the order and the accurate reason, review the information, and submit once. Repeated requests with different explanations do not improve eligibility and can make the record harder to follow.
Preserve the decision and status
Save the on-screen submission message and Google’s email. The notice should tell you whether the request was accepted immediately or requires review. Processing and the time for money to appear depend on the payment method; a refund decision and bank posting are separate stages.
Do not cancel an unrelated subscription or file a card dispute while the same transaction is under review unless your issuer tells you to act for account safety. If the purchase is a subscription, also verify whether recurring billing remains active; refunding one charge does not necessarily cancel renewal.
Use the unauthorized-charge path when appropriate
If no household member recognizes the transaction, secure the Google account, review signed-in devices and payment methods, and use Google’s unauthorized charge reporting instructions rather than choosing a false refund reason. Contact the card issuer promptly if the card itself may be compromised.
If an eligible order is absent, contact Google Play support with the GPA number, account email, item, date, and amount. Share payment details only inside the official support flow. Completion is a documented decision and, if approved, a matching credit from the payment provider—not merely a submitted form.
